Adult pottery summer camp 2011- eigth year!

At my studio 35 minutes west of Ottawa near the town of Almonte, Ontario. Full indoor and outdoor studios on the beautiful Little Mississippi River by Blakeney Falls.

Daily 10am- 4pm (come early to grab a cup of organic coffee, swim, canoe etc., same after class. - teaching is between 10-4).

All levels of experience are welcome including NO previous experience with clay.

The emphasis of the course is on relaxing and having fun with clay as a medium to explore creativity. Since the course is geared to what each person needs, a loose curriculum is based on developing sound technical skills with a project each day as a jumping-off point. For those wanting more in-depth technical information, all aspects of the art of pottery will be covered including making, glazing and firing pottery.

Bring a lunch, sit and read and relax under the willows. Coffee, tea, juices and snacks are provided. I have a large library of clay books. Your day might be sitting on the dock staring out into space. It's all good.

The folks who come to camp seem to really enjoy themselves. I love having people here to share the studio, the river and each other's company. I have made many new friends and look forward to the place being filled with activity.

Accommodation: many people drive out daily from Ottawa, some have stayed in local B&Bs (list on request), we also have the use of a sweet little cottage on the other side of the river for $30/person per night. Sleeps 3-5 ( boy, sounding more like camp all the time!). Students ( campers) have come from P.E.I. to Lincolnshire England, Montreal to Waterloo!..oh and the good old Ottawa Valley
